Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu Charitable Trust

Te Kotahi o Te Tauihu Charitable Trust was set up in February 2021 by the eight iwi of Te Tauihu o Te Waka-o-Māui (top of the South Island) to advance health and wellbeing, alleviate proverty, ensure adequate food and housing is available and promote education and skills for the benefits of the communities of Te Tauihu and in particular, Māori communities.

Darney Tākao, Iwi Work Broker, came to Garin College to share this incredible service with us in support of our Māori students and whānau.  Read on to learn more about the service they provide.

Tō mātou mahi | What we do

Big or small, we are here to help.

Using a kaupapa Maōri approach, we work with whānau Māori, government agencies, education and work providers, and NPOs to ensure existing health and wellbeing services are fit for purpose for our people, with the aim of ensuring no whānau in Te Tauihu is left behind.
